March or Die: France and the Foreign Legion/Tony Geraghty. Grafton Books. Hardcover. First edition 1986. Out of print. Condition: As new. ISBN 0246119756

With two eight-page photographic sections, appendices, bibliography, map endpapers, index and three pages of maps, this book provides an in-depth analysis of the legend and battle honours of the French Foreign Legion, based on years of research through the annals of the Legion itself and interviews with both serving and ex-legionnaires.

Although most were not French by blood, the Legionnaires have been shedding their blood for France since 1831, during some of the most important political events, including China, Taiwan, Indo-China, Algeria and Morocco, and in WWI they were the only arm of the French military that did not mutiny, yet their gallantry and sacrifice has so often been ignored by the very country they fought and often died for.
