This is a major work on the German Freikorps, explaining how these Veteran groups crushed communism in Germany after World War 1, putting down the revolts that threatened the Federal Government time and time again, ensuring that Germany would find itself under the rule of the National Socialists.

Gathered from various sources the well written text also includes detailed accounts of the murders of the Spartacist movement’s leaders, Leibknecht and Luxembourg in 1919, the later murders of those others such as Erzberger, who tried to bring democracy to Germany, and the fate of many of the killers and brutes who used any means at their disposal to stop this happening.

Further information is provided by Appendices listing the various Freikorps, their leaders and insignia , details of Freikorps members who became prominent in the Nazi Germany they had helped create, together with maps, contemporary posters and photographs.
